Calling all student artists! 🎨✨ Show off your creativity and honor our military families by entering the 2025-2026 Purple Up T-Shirt Design Contest. 💜
April is the Month of the Military Child, and we want to see your designs that express the sacrifices military children make while their parents serve.
The Details
Who can enter: ALL students in grades K-12.
Categories: K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
The Prize: One winner from each category will receive a $200 gift card, be featured on local billboards, and have their design sold to students and families across the parish!
Design Requirements
Colors: Use only 1-2 colors.
Placement: Design for either the front OR the back (not both).
Labeling: Include your name, grade, and school on the back of your submission.

We are pleased to announce the annual American Heritage Poetry Contest for Bossier Parish students in grades K-5! This contest celebrates the spirit of patriotism, and we hope each student participates making this a meaningful and memorable event for the students of R.V. Kerr.
Each class will have a contest in which 1 student will be selected to complete at the school level on January 27th. The student who receives 1st place at the school level will compete at the district level on February 18th.
Students must choose a poem with a patriotic theme to recite in the competition. Each grade level has its own guidelines as listed below. Students are not permitted to bring props, but costumes and dressing up are encouraged to enhance the presentation.

2nd: 8-12 Line Poem
3rd: 12-16 Line Poem
4th: 16-20 Line Poem
5th: 20-24 Line Poem
