MEET THE TEACHER!
AUGUST 4, 2016
Come back to school on Thursday,
August 4, 2016 to meet your child’s teacher and hear what will be going on during the 2016-2017 school year.
You can bring your child’s supplies and check out the classroom a couple of days before the first full day of school. This will be a “come and go” time and will give you and your child a chance to get to meet the teacher. We hope that everyone will try to come as we prepare for that first day of school on August 8, 2016.
The Bossier Parish School Board voted on May 19, 2016 to accept the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for 15 of our schools to participate in starting 2016-2017 school year.
There are many benefits associated with the CEP, such as increase school meals participation by as much as 25% in most schools, removing the stigma associated with students that qualify for free or reduced priced meal, facilitating creative meal service options, and eliminating student debt related to food service.
Your students will be provided one free breakfast and lunch at no cost. The students will have to pay for extras items as normal. If you have any students move to a non participating CEP sites, then a meal benefit application will be required prior to transferring. All charges on the accounts are still required to be paid. Also, any students being promoted to a non CEP sites will be required to complete an online application before the end of 2016-2017 school year , because a grace period is not granted for the first 30 days of the next year for CEP students. We will send notification of this in March 2017.

Above and beyond
When a student's mom was gone the whole school year and Ms. Pruett stepped up and helped Caydan when he needed the help. She made the school year a success for all of us!
We are very excited to announce that we were the recipients of the 2015-2016 Academic Incentive Grant. The grant will allow RV Kerr to purchase Flocabulary for the entire school body. It will give teachers, students and parents an interactive way to learn and explore all academics. It will be an exciting year at RV Kerr!!

Order Your Brick!!
R.V. Kerr will be selling bricks to students/families, alumni, and educators in order to make a “Walk of Fame” in front of the school. For $35, you can purchase a brick and have up to four lines, (18 blanks) engraved with your name/year you attended Kerr/ a message of your choice. This is a great way to help us beautify the school grounds and leave your mark for posterity. We would like to challenge all students, former and current, and educators that have helped mold the students from Kerr to purchase a brick. (Cash or Money Orders only!)
